A modern winter sports resort, Bardonecchia offers all snow aficionados more than 100 km of slopes divided into two areas: Colomion, Les Arnauds and Melezet with their broad woodland slopes, and Jafferau, famous for its unsurpassable mountain views.
And that’s not all, its Olympic half pipe, the snowpark and long stretches of snow-covered slopes, unfold from the tops of the mountains to drop down to the woods encircling the town, and make Bardonecchia a veritable skiers` paradise.
Cross-country skiers can use the big loop of Pian del Colle and the nearby Decauville that starts off not far from the Hotel Jafferau. Ski mountaineering and snow-shoeing can be done on a variety of trails at different altitudes.
